12 Kits of Occasions December 2013

Hi everyone! Guess what? This month was MY month to host the 12 Kits of Occasions! And I got my favorite occasion...Christmas :) This year I didn't do solely Paper Smooches like last year, but you know I couldn't go without some of the adorable characters and sentiments from my favorite company :) I also added in some Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn for a fun mix up. Sadly I just sat down to work on my cards yesterday so I didn't get as much done as I could have, but hey I've already got 5 Christmas cards done for next year! Make sure to scroll to the bottom for info on the PRIZE!! ;)

First off I couldn't resist making an "ugly" sweater, since those are so in trend. As a card this is pretty cute, though. I made it extra tacky with a huge corduroy button nose on the reindeer!

Do you like the word dies you see in this next card? Want a chance to WIN them?? Well that is this month's prize, so make sure to leave a comment ;)

Well that does it...for now! I save all my reminants from the kits and boy am I glad that I do because I was about 15 cards short this year, so I pulled out my leftovers and knocked those cards out in no time! So now I have plenty left over for next year's cards, too. Now for my supplies used:

Okay, I think that does it on the supplies, if I missed something that you are interested in, let me know!

Now I know you may be a bit interested in that prize I mentioned! Well, here's how to get it, go visit my friends' blogs and leave them a little love, I will randomly pick a winner on Thursday and announce it on the 12 Kits blog, so make sure to check there to see if you were a winner! Good luck, and have fun viewing all their gorgeous creations :)

Tracey's 25 Tags of Christmas

What an honor it was when I received an email from Tracey McNeely asking me if I would be a part of her 25 Days of Christmas Tags! Tracey is sooooo sweet and talented. I am truly lucky to be a part of the 12 Kits of Occasions group with her and to be able to call her my friend :) I'm also glad that she asked me because it forced me to get into my craft room (which still has dust on it from when our house was a construction zone!). This tag was fun to make and came together pretty easily. I know that some Christmas present this year will look really cute with this tag hanging off of it!

25 Tags of Christmas

The tag die is from PTI. The tag stamp is from Mama Elephant. The sentiment, birds, leaves, and hearts are from Lawn Fawn. The patterned paper is also from Lawn Fawn. The ribbon is from PTI and the wooden snowflake is from Recollections. If you missed any of Tracey's tags you have missed out, so make sure to go back and check them out!

The 12 Kits of Occasions November 2013

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I love when our kits include Christmas supplies, especially this one! Kelly sent us an amazing kit with a chalkboard theme that I am totally loving. Who would have thought I'd create so many black and white Christmas cards? I really had an awesome time with this kit, thanks Kelly!

The 12 Kits of Occasions October 2013

Time for another installment of the 12 Kits of Occasions! This month Kara sent us the most gorgeous fall kit. I drooled over the fabulous colors, and I truly enjoyed getting to play with all the elements she sent us. Most of you know that October 2nd was a special day for me, the birth of my son! So I didn't actually start putting together any cards until yesterday (this has never happened with one of my 12 kits!) but let me tell you, I could have made so many more beautiful cards. I have part of another made, but I was just too tired to finish knowing that I also needed to do my blog post. I'm also too tired to figure out why my pictures aren't the same color when I edit them, but I figured you'd all understand! Oh but here is a funny little tidbit. When I got the kit I looked at everything right away. I also noticed that Kara sent candy in the kit. I thought oh what a great idea! So I ate the candy quite awhile ago (when I was still pregnant). It wasn't until later that I found out we were supposed to USE the candy in the kit...whoops!!

12 Kits of Occasions September 2013

What an absolutely AMAZING kit Kim sent us!! First of all, it was almost too pretty to open! It came in a wrapped and decorated box. Then everything inside the box was wrapped up, too! But obviously I couldn't resist opening it up and using the TONS of supplies she sent. I made 7 cards, but seriously, I could have made at least 4-5 more. I loved the diversity of supplies from cute to elegant. It was just so fun to work with, thanks, Kim! So check out what I created:

Its funny because when I was making the last one I was thinking, oh this is so plain, I'm not going to like this one. But add the sequins and scallop border, and wa-lah, its my favorite of the bunch! How about you? I can't wait to get over and check out the other Halloween creations by my 12 Kit mates, you should go check them out, too!

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch September 2013

IMG_6989

I don't think I've played in a Paper Smooches challenge since my DT term ended, so this was fun. You guys know how much I love my Paper Smooches! So I broke into some new dies to make a thank you card for this week's challenge. I have a lot to be thankful for lately, friends and family have spoiled me and Sonny with gifts for both him and for me for my birthday, so I've been making tons of thank you notes. I used just PS dies on this card (no stamping?! shock!). Believe it or not those rolled flowers were made for me as part of a birthday gift at least a year (or possibly two) ago by a friend (thanks, Gerry!). The patterned paper is from PTI. I love how sort of shabby chic this card turned out.

Lawnscaping Challenge #65

Lawnscaping #65

Something pretty exciting happened recently...we got new neighbors! And not only are they close in age to us, the wife is from Florida, like me, AND she's having her first baby!! She just found out a week or so ago that she's having a boy (just like us!) and they're naming him after his dad (and other dads before him). He will be Ed the 5th. She is decorating his nursery with an animal theme and painting it green, so that is where I got the idea for my card. It was really fun to make. We also got baby Ed a cute little outfit to go along with the card as well. I'm entering this card into this week's Lawnscaping challenge which is to use your favorite supplies to create a project. So I used Lawn Fawn stamps, letter dies, burlap, and those cute wooden stars.

So as of today I'm officially 9 months pregnant...wow! Until recently time has been dragging on...I never thought we'd get here. But of course now I'm thinking, "Sonny, don't come early!" We're having construction done in the house and have been living in the camper in our backyard for a month now, and although I know he'd never remember that he came home to a disaster at his house, I don't want to bring my new baby into the mess, so keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't come early and that the contractors get their act together and get our house complete!

12 Kits of Occasions August 2013

Hi all! Our kit this month came from Amy and it was another Christmas themed kit (love those :) She sent some cool supplies for us to try out, and I didn't own any of them, so that made it a lot of fun! She sent two tiny cards, too, with tiny envelopes so that was fun to change it up (the second and third card are the small cards). Check out what I made here:

So my favorite of the bunch is the first one or the first mini card. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what everyone else created with their supplies, though! So why don't you hop along with me? There is a prize up for grabs along the way! Check out the 12 Kits blog for more details.

August 2013 PTI Blog Hop

August 2013 PTI Blog Hop

I think I may have just gotten my stamping spirit back! When we got back from camping today I went in to work on my 12 Kits cards (knocked out 5!) and then I still felt like stamping! So I decided to play along with this month's PTI blog hop. I can't even tell you the last time I played along with it, so this is pretty exciting ;)

One of my close friends just had her husband go on Hospice and it has been really tough for her, so I used this challenge to create a card for her. She loves dragonflies and butterflies so I knew I wanted to start there. I used this color combo/sketch:

I used PTI's Beautiful Butterflies and Background Basics Tin Types. The circle dies are from Nestabilities. The eyelet bling is from Joann, and the other bling is Recollections. The ink is from Stampin' Up. It was a lot of fun to play in the blog hop again. Now if I can just get my act together and actually post some of the cards I've been making you'll see that I think I'm out of my crafting funk! Thanks for stopping by :)

The 12 Kits of Holidays July 2013

This month was hosted by the fabulous Christina! Oh I had so much fun working with this kit! The colors were gorgeous and the patterned papers so much fun. The theme this month was birthdays, and that is a good thing because I have no birthday cards...I always give them away right after I make them, which of course isn't helpful when I realize I need a birthday card in a pinch. So this will help to build my stash.

And now on to the cards that I made this month. (The first one is my favorite! :)
